Screaming Trees Picture
Screaming Treeswere a grunge band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1985. Their sound was a mix of 60's psychedelia and punk rock, and even though they were critically acclaimed by many, they never achieved the superstardom of, say, Nirvanaor Soundgarden. Following the tour, Screaming Trees took another hiatus. After a June 25, 2000, concert to celebrate the opening Seattle's Experience Music Project, the group unsurprisingly announced their official breakup. The founding members were brothers Gary Lee Conner (guitars) and Van Conner (bass), vocalist Mark Lanegan, and drummer Mark Pickerel.

Strange Out Here Lyrics

Screaming Trees

Were you around
Spring came today
Outside your room
You were away
All the lost hours spent in the cold
I didnt care
I dreamed you were there
Now Im counting my chances gone 1 2 3
If you see me today would you remember me
Say you are free why dont you really live
You gotta hate forever never can forgive
And its clear
I learned to trust the rain
Im drifting out of reach
Its kind of strange out here
In this city built on broken glass
And the carcasses of a million dead sheep
Where the blood runs thick down third street
Down the gutter to the railroad station
And takes a train
Up, over these big mountains to the sea
Thats where you gotta be
You gotta go to the sea
Yesterday Im so glad to forget
I was so sane all life remains
But think of the time you learned to love
The rain in the park we walked in the dark
Now Im counting my chances gone 1 2 3
If you saw me today would you remember me
Been raining forever, go ahead and leave
But you gotta hate forever, you never can forgive
So clear
I cant distrust the rain
Im drifting out of reach
Its very strange out here
