Screaming Trees Picture
Screaming Treeswere a grunge band formed in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1985. Their sound was a mix of 60's psychedelia and punk rock, and even though they were critically acclaimed by many, they never achieved the superstardom of, say, Nirvanaor Soundgarden. Following the tour, Screaming Trees took another hiatus. After a June 25, 2000, concert to celebrate the opening Seattle's Experience Music Project, the group unsurprisingly announced their official breakup. The founding members were brothers Gary Lee Conner (guitars) and Van Conner (bass), vocalist Mark Lanegan, and drummer Mark Pickerel.

Screaming Trees

Come walk down the long hall
In the dim light of morning
Step inside my room, Im waiting alone
Its so weird that youre finally here
In the place where youre going to see
All the sights and the sounds
And then the animals come out of the jungle
Curious to see us waiting here
On the shore of the crystal blue sea
And the waves meet the ship
That were going to be on
On a flight from this day
To the place where we can stay
And never ever be alone
I know that Im never going to go back home
I stand at the window, the dim light is fading
Its cold inside my room and its getting late
Then the animals come out of the jungle
Curious to see me stare at the waves
As they roll out to sea and the waves meet the ship
That were going to be on
On a flight from this day
To a place where we can stay
And never ever be alone
You know that Im never going to go
You know that Im never going to go back home again
Well alright now!
Come walk down the long hall
In the dim light of morning
Step inside my room, Im waiting alone
Its so weird that youre finally here
In the place where youre going to see
All the sights and the sounds
And then the animals come out of the jungle
Curious to see us waiting here
On the shore of the crystal blue sea
And the waves meet the ship
That were going to be on
On a flight from this day
To the place where we can stay
And never ever be alone
You know that Im never going to go
You know that Im never going to go back home again
(thats good)
